Independent Isle of Wight weather stations

Monitoring the weather is becoming the hobby of many people on the Isle of Wight. With the advent of the AWS (Automatic Weather Station), it has never been easier to monitor the weather, and share the information with the rest of the world. We have many amateurs with weather stations, all collecting detailed data, and producing easy to read data for everyone to see. The weather stations log data at intervals as low as each minute, but sample data at intervals as low as a second. Some produce data for the internet at intervals as high as days, where as some give a near real time feed, uploading data at intervals as small as four seconds. You can even have a lightning detector which plots lightning strikes in near real time.

Some of the stations featured here record data by hand, and some can give you virtually any information you want, such as leaf wetness, soil temperatures, and soil moisture levels.
